GeoMapper is an Innovative Mobile (Smartphone) App developed for addressing mapping and associated data collection needs of Sri Lanka. GeoMapper extracts the geographical coordinates of the underlying map to create Georeferenced mapping features. This approach creates much more accurate (error less than 1m) map features (Points, Lines and Polygons) than what is created using hand-held GPS which has up to 2-5m error at best conditions. The Key Features of the System ▪ Can map Points, Lines and Polygons more accurately than hand held GPS ▪ Can enter complex attribute data ▪ Can add photo as an attribute ▪ Mapping tools such as “Split”, “Autocomplete” provides spatial data sets (maps) without Topological Errors ▪ Can connect to back-end geodatabase for continuous data collection and data updating ▪ Data entering is secured through password authentication and also with “genlocking” ▪ Works well in areas without mobile data coverage (In offline mode) ▪ Can reach cm level accuracy with RTK (Real Time Kinematics) attachment
